It's two stems in one pot, Cinders...such a lovely combination...
...from LIDL, this afternoon!!! :)

Its beautiful. Will it stand the winter outside Karen do you know, or will you have to give it protection indoors. I had a pink one once and it grew so big I couldnt bring it indoors in the end, and although I gave it protection in my cold greenhouse and covered it well, I lost it. I was really sad when that happened,

Aah...same as me, Cinders.
Here they survive a winter or two (as do plumbago, solanum and mandevillea), with a blanket on, and you get a false sense of security......
This year, I'm keeping them all in plastic pots and I'm getting a wee greenhouse - not for propegation - just for overwintering. I'd like to be able to cut them back just to get them in...and then put them back out again the next year.

That LIDL is a bit of an emporium isn't it, Suzy?
You go in to buy milk and wine (oops, that says a lot!!) and you come out with all sorts of plants you weren't looking for, especially since you'd already said, 'Stop! Enough!! lol! ;)))

Do you think a plastic greenhouse may be enought then Karen, I expect you will still have to cover them with fleece or something. Hope you manage to keep them.

I think that a rigid plastic greenhouse will work, Cinders...at least, I'm hoping that it will...
It'll be frost-free and we do get a lot of sun in the winter (even though it's bitter cold), which should keep the temperature okay. I really hope that I can keep them too, this time.

That is gorgeous Karen - that greenhouse will come in handy - will be money well spent :)

I know, Scottish. I was prepared to have to argue my economic case about the greenhouse...but OH succumbed to my first mention...!
But, I will be having to ask all the time, at the end of this season, about how to put them all to bed!!!
(But it's too soon to be thinking about all that!!!) :)))

Ask away....just don't ask me :)). I'm sure there will be plenty of advice offered :)

Hee hee...I'm clueless on that front too, Scottish...like will they still need watered, etc?? Soon find out... ;)))

They've got lots of lovely ones, just now, Annie...this one is for the side of the porch.

It's got to come in for the winter, J...unless I move to Provence...! ;)))

That is so special. First time I saw one was in the Aberdeen Botanic Garden glasshouses. They were fantastic.

There are so many amazing colours, Sg...and these LIDL ones are bigger than the other one I bought...at 2/3 of the price!

If you get a plastic greenhouse could you put it close to the house under the pergola. We had one. The frame went after I had bought a replacement cover for it so OH made up a new frame using plastic tube. The heat from the house will make up for the lack of heat in the greenhouse.

You're making me think...
In plastic...I could, actually, put it on the porch over winter and put it away in the summer...
...or, I could just get heavy duty plastic sheeting and make one end of the porch into a temporary greenhouse...
25 May, 2012
OH will love you even more. LOL.
25 May, 2012
Lol! That way I can spend the difference on things to put in it!!!
25 May, 2012
You had better make it plenty big then.
