I'm still going to try another one. :>)

I now have a new red hybrid. It's called 'Capricorn Dream' and it was bred in Rockhampton, a little further south here in Queensland. I'm sure it will do well in the driveway garden. I've got a spot all picked out, but haven't planted it just yet.

You're so lucky you can grow Mussaenda very well there.

Here in San Diego they are such a a challenge! Water issues, cool temps in winter, bugs that love to eat them (which killed my plant)....and the list goes on-and-on. lol!

Yes they are definitely one of the easiest plants to grow here. I wish I had more room so I could plant a few more in the ground.

I'm so jealous! lol! It's one of my favorite flowering shrubs. Hopefully one day I can get one to grow large.

Here's one last look at my plant which met its demise last summer. :>(

Lovely. Such a shame. It's always so disappointing when we lose a treasured plant.

Yes it is...especially when it's a plant that's not very available for sale here. Mussaenda is rarely available at the nurseries here in San Diego.
