I have only ever fertilized them when I first plant them in the ground. After that they're on their own. They always do well here, even in the poorest soil and the harshest conditions. I'm now starting to add more and more down our long driveway garden beds.

What type of fertilizer do you use?
I can only use ironite on them. Ironite never burns plants.

I use what's called 'Blood and Bone' here. The blood meal contains slow release nitrogen, and the bone meal is full of calcium and phosphorus. I use this as my primary fertiliser for most plants in my outdoor garden beds.

I know blood meal can be very high in nitrogen. The bone meal which contains calcium and phosphorus would be perfect, especially for blooming.

I absolutely love this! I need to get some yellow ones.
My Ixoras haven't bloomed yet...and I'm afraid to fertilize them, as I killed my large one with fertilizer.
