Cornus kousa dogwood

Cornus kousa dogwood

I saw a lot of these in Indiana, most of them were flowering as heavy as this one. The only problem I had is that most of them were grown like large shrubs when they have nice looking bark that is hidden in foliage. Kind of hard to complain about that when they are flowering though.

Oh, aren't they just, Sticki?

I've just planted a little dogwood that I rescued from the supermarket sad shelf...but, I think it's the wrong sort!

I never watch the golf, Sticki...I'm the daughter of what is commonly called a "golf widow"...I lived and breathed it as a child...lol

But that course in Atlanta is just beautiful...

I didn't watch it either Karen, OH watched it, but I noticed the plants! Yes Atlanta is the one, I also like to see when they have the golf at Woburn cos I grew up there, before the course was built!

I can appreciate that, Sticki...

But, I didn't realise that Woburn had not been there for a very, very long time!! You're obviously still a young 'un! ;))

My dad once won the Stirling Open...

Okay, maybe not on the big list, but he did it!! And I was his caddy!
It was a huge cup, with a wee golfer on the top...and he put it in the garden...and taught me how to shoot the golfer with an air-rifle!!!

The wee golfer was mangled!! But my mum was happy because she didn't have to polish the cup! lol! :)))

What an amazing story! That's brilliant Karen, your dad sounds fun!

I lived in Woburn until 1970 it wasn't there then! Nor was milton Keynes!!

My dad was fun, Sticki...I could shoot that gun, bowl a googly and enter a scrum without getting my ears torn off (having done a Maori haka first), all before I was twelve. lol!
Which was probably around the time that they were building Milton Keynes, by the sound of it... ;)

You shot the little golfer with an air rifle? Haha, that is awesome!

You must have had a great childhood!

To be honest, my dad shot the little golfer more than I did...but, I was responsible for quite a few dents in the cup! (she said, proudly) :D

I did have a great childhood, Sticki...my dad was kind of unique. He was brought up in NZ which is another story for another day...and sports mad! I was the honorary "boy"! lol!
