I was very impressed with this hydrangea last year, it flowered into October which is about unheard of here. It was small last fall and this Spring it has really shot up. Now it is my largest lacecap hydrangea.

It's a beautiful colour, Rk. I have a blue one in a pot. I really thought I'd lost it this winter, but it has just started to come back from the base - thank goodness!

I had the same thing happen to Mariesii Variegata, it didn't start coming back from the base until just a couple weeks ago!

I see it happen a lot, most of the top dies back but the roots survive and it starts growing about a month after you've given up hope on it!
