Froglet in grass

Saw a couple of baby frogs in the lawn just before a mow. Can just about make this one out in the jungle!

have lots of tiny toads...not as many frogs this year. Saw a tadpole (only 1) in the stream today. Hope you managed to move them along before cutting?

I'm not quite sure where they came from, i don't have a pond (yet) and we are on a new build :S I do have a log pile though that is behind the shed which is where they ran off under. It was lovely to see them though and yes, i spent a good 5 minutes swooshing the grass before hubby mowed it :) No casualties. They were very tiny.

They are amazing little creatures and had the wonderful experience to opening my greenhouse this morning..(It was down to 8 dgrees C. last night) and found a huge toad sitting among the discards under the bench!

Oh wow, i don't think i've ever seen a toad before! I bet that was a lovely surprise! :)
It was amazing to see these little guys, my whole garden im trying to make wildlife friendly, so far i've only had insects so it was great to see 3 baby frogs, i feel bad i had to cut the grass but they have the log pile! :)

That's the spirit...I love to see the new spaces being brought back to nature. New areas seem so sterile and barren. It is amazing what a few shrubs and plants can do. Nature always returns. Here in the wilderness we have wild turkeys, foxes, deer, bear, squirrels, hawks and owls...frogs, toads and salamanders...lots of birds, ducks, geese, etc. We are nature central. With all the wildflowers..I have had to learn so much in such a short time...want to put my own stamp on things but don't want to destroy the natural beauties. Have piles of tree prunings that I didn't get rid of because the thrushes are nesting in them!

That's so true, we've been here nearly two years and when we first moved in it was just a patch of dead grass with a shed. No wildlife whatsoever. Now we've got bees, ladybirds, hoverflies, baby frogs! :D

Wow you're very lucky... wild turkeys?! Bears??!! I can't wait to get more wildlife into the garden, i'd like to get hedgehogs in along with more frogs once i get a wildlife pond up and running :)
