Half leaved Acer!

Was very late in losing its leaves last Autumn.Wondering why the tree has only half of its foliage now.

Ah, good. I have one that is looking really poorly too. I'm hoping it is only the cold as well. Its leaves look a bit shrivelled and stunted.....as if greenfly have infested. There's a thought...must check tomorrow!

Not looking good is it J? I mean, what's there looks fine, but only half of it looks to be leafing as you say. Very strange because when Acer stems are dead it is usually very obvious because of the difference in colour. I have no idea....could put it on as a question and see if anyone can advise?
