Beech Hedge

What a magnificent hedge, You are lucky. Wouldn't it take a long time to grow that? And it looks in very good shape.

I'm sorry Wells, I don't know when it was planted, we've been here since December 1998 and the hedge was already at a reasonable height then. It has thickened up considerably in the last 13 years. Last year we borrowed a chainsaw to cut down the height, as it had gotten a bit out of hand height wise - the trunks are quite thick in the middle. It does look nice and gives us privacy all year round even when the leaves have died back!
