I am just surprised by it - just one in a tray of ordinary Spring bedding. I only wish I could remember what I put in the compost!

It is looking quite spectacular. Is it on a frame or is it self supporting.

It was self-supporting and very sturdy until we had a day of deluge, which flattened it. I have lifted it, and tied it loosely to a cane. It is still flowering, but the colours are beginning to fade now, and it is definitely starting to go over. I have never had a viola grow so large, or last so long! Some the individual flowers have lasted weeks.

I'd be dead heading like mad to keep it going until the first frosts but leave a few heads to give you seed for next year. I wonder if it will come true from its own seed.

It'll be interesting to see - I am certainly trying to keep it going!
