nods, thanks dear. It was actually on a shelf beside the back door, not on the windowsill itself - but probably would have been fairly safe even then - windows face east, and there are lots of trees in the green beyond the garden, so I rarely get direct sunlight until noon, when the sun's moved round to shine along the block.

lol that was a disappointment - my previous place also faced east but being on the 7th floor, I could wake up to sunshine every moringing - as the bed was under the window and I always slept with the curtains open, I only had to kick off hte sheet to sunbathe. sigh, shame I can't do that here!
