Hi Willinilli, is that Verbena bonariensis either side of your Butterfly house?

28 Jun, 2012

Firstly Muddy it is nice to meet you & dont believe a word Pimpernel says about me!

Yes it is, I think its grown another 2ft since I took this photo. I had forgot I planted it there & then it just shot up.
Will it flower all down the stem?

Nice to meet you too. I think it flowers from the top down? Your Butterflies and Bees will love it.
(Used to live in Kent myself many years ago, my parents and sister still do).

Really, whereabouts?

28 Jun, 2012

Oops! A bit late replying, sorry. My parents are in Dartford and my sister Greenhithe. One of my other 'things' is birdwatching and I used to wander all over the North Kent marshes . . . if they're still there!

Oooh not far from me then.
My sister spends most of her time at Greenhithe, shopping at Bluewater!
Yes the marshes are still there at the moment, not for much longer if Boris gets his way. I just dont get why they think its the right place for an airport, they have Manston just down the road & its hardly used, makes me so mad :-]

It's an ancestral flyway for hundreds of thousands of migratory birds, (through supposedly Internationally protected sites) and has been for hundreds of years - only an idiot would risk flying a plane through that. Makes my blood boil too - I believe it's just a smokescreen to make extending Heathrow the only option . . . and who on earth voted that twit in as Mayor of London?
Whereabouts in the Garden of England are you then Willinilli? (Love that name by the way!).

ps. I seriously miss draught Shepherd Neame . . . have to make do with the bottled stuff!

Im in Snodland Muddy, but was born in Northfleet & grew up in Meopham.
I'll have a pint for you next time Im on a bender, Lol.

I think we should make Boris wing walk on a plane & fly him up the estuary, see how many birds hit that smug face of his, Lol.

Oh . . I would pay to watch that!!! Cheers ;-))
