I'm not certain. This is the first year I have tried cantaloupe. Am I supposed to limit the number of melons per vine? If so, how?

We grow Charantais, and we stop them at 4 Melons per plant..you could try 4-6 with the type you're growing. Pinch out the stem 2 leaves beyond the fruit, and keep removing unwanted shoots and flowers, or you'll get more tiny fruit...If yours are growing on the ground, the straw is good, a piece of slate or Tile is good to stand the developing fruit on...Hope this helps...
