I think the silver is Cerastium 'dusty miller 'or maybe 'snow in summer.' ? Another wonderful plant for all those dry and shady places this is under a huge fir type tree, and terrific for keeping out weeds I quite enjoy finding places for them, and so far not going too mad.

In my previous garden I had the cerastium...but my favourite silver was Artemisia ludoviciana.

I will see if I can get Artemisiia ludoviana, cannot place it at the moment.
I have briefly looked at some of your blogs, looking forward to reading all. Amazing place you live. Think you described yourself and husband as oldies, but you must have so much energy, can not wait to read more and see pictures. Racoons Wow, will they chase the cat ?

thanks Mary! Wildlife, (raccoons, skunks, foxes, bats, squirrels and in one bizarre instance a cow) can contract rabies...la rage...it is very contagious and kills..so as a result we have clinics every year to vaccinate our domestic animals against the disease. The raccoons are nocturnal and we don't let the cat out at night. Don't think they'd chase him anyway...lol..if anything Rufus would want to play and chase them! ..he's so young..

And you have combined gold with silver...is that an artemisia beside Jenny? I have this too and must say it is a fantastic ground cover. Some will say it's a little too invasive but if you have the space to let it have it's head, it will create a pretty scene, such as you have here. :-)
