My Nile Tulip tree has been blooming since May. It should bloom until Oct/Nov. It has a very sweet smelling flower. Photo taken July 23, 2012

Thanks! It's been my favorite flowering tropical tree for many years!

The flower is similar to a hibiscus?

No, it's very different. It's closer to Catalpa flowers. It's in the same family as Catalpa: Bignonicaeae. Markhamia is a very tropical tree, though!
