Thalictrum lucidum - 2012

Don't be confused by the foliage - most of it belongs to a mahonia! The leaves of the thalictrum are the bluey-green 'fingers' below the flowers.
I have been disappointed with this plant in previous years - perhaps it needs a wet soil to give of its best?
