Standard Rose - Graham Bell

I would love to have a standard like this. I must get around to getting one! I have an idea where I could plant one too!

All your pics today are gorgeous Mum. I wonder why you don't seem to be affected with the dreaded black spot. My roses are just awful with it this year. It really ruins them. It has to be something to do with my soil and weather I suppose. I hope it isn't anything to do with the bark mulch. You'd think that would stop it getting from the soil on to the plants a bit though.....hmm..shall have to look in to it.

some of the roses are affected quite badly, it is a shame, I do not know if the bark would affect them, maybe ask a question on here of the rose experts they might know the answers.

Graham Bell must be very happy in such a lovely setting!

Think he is, it has done much better than I thought it would, it is the first year I have had a standard rose and I was none too sure of how to look after it, but it has gone really well for me.

thats fine Michaella, no problems I know how busy you are. I look forward to seeing pictures of the new rose when you have got the time and when of course it has flowered for you.
