First year for these - they can reach 5' - 8' tall. I took this photo a few weeks ago. The plants have since been destroyed by a pack of feral dogs. Grrrr....

These dogs are technically the neighbors' dogs. They had a mama dog who had a litter of puppies every year and I think the father is one of her puppies from a previous litter. Anyway, she had 6 pups last year, now they are nearly a year old, they've been running wild since they were old enough to walk. Even as little puppies they were unsocialized & I couldn't catch them. Once they got to be about 7 or 8 months old they started killing neighborhood dogs - they've killed 4 that I know of. Animal Control put out a trap and trapped the parents and 3 of the "puppies" but the other 3 can't be trapped and they are totally wild. They have tried to dig under my fence and my lab/pit cross is scared to go outside.
They get into my garden and tear everything up and knock over the trash cans and get into the garbage. It's very frustrating.
