I really thought you poor souls had had enough rain to last the year, and that things were at last cheering up. What's the forecast for Manchester like, Pims?

Like a bright summers day here at the moment Gattina
There were the Flash floods in Prestwich yesterday water above the doorsteps and flooded cellars and more rain forecast this afternoon.
When are you back over Early Sept ?
6 Aug, 2012
We've just been seeing your flash floods on the television!!!!
Early September we're off to Lake Garda, then back for a few days and then I catch the plane to Manchester 19th Sept, Audiologist appointment 20th, flying back here 21st. I told you it was a short trip, didn't I? Peter and I haven't booked anything yet, but we're hoping for a few days back possibly the 1st or second week in November in a slightly more relaxed frame of mind.

Love Lake Garda, Gattina - great choice - enjoy!

I'm counting the days! We could do it more often, I suppose - it's only two and a half hours up the motorway, but Italian motorways and diesel costs rather put us off, and if you do it too often, it stops being special! We'll probably do another day trip in October if the weather allows - end of season prices, sunshine and virtually no tourists. Lovely! We've been going there for the past 52 years now. You'd think we'd have more imagination, wouldn't you?

Lovely colour,Pimms..I've hardly seen the flowers on mine this year..they are there, but hidden behind all the foliage of other stuff..and couldn't get to the trellis to train them in..so just a big mass, which is almost prone!

We have flowers but they are getting beaten about by the rain , I've also noticed something has been eating the new growth at the top of the Clems but not the older leaves at the bottom ,I don't know what it could be !

Very pretty. Mine are abit messy too Bloomer, Im too lazy to get the steps out to train them, Lol.

It's a lovely clematis, Pimms. Mine has finished flowering now but only had a few blooms. I have a Duchess of Albany which had never flowered in years, so I moved it to a sunnier spot where it thrived, putting on loads of growth. Then, almost overnight, all the top growth was decimated by slugs/snails, so no flowers again!!! Grrrr.
