Gentiana Saxosa

This is a white flowered Gentian. It is not at all like the other gentians I have. It is from New Zealand. It has cup-shaped white flowers with grey-purple veining on the petals. It is apparently short lived and while it may self sow it is best to be kept going from seed according to John Husbands article on the AGS site.
Pcw has just advised me that it will need to be fairly dry in winter to be hardy.

I bought this recently not realising I have one already. It is in a mixed pot and is nowhere near flowering.

Lovely plant and fingers crossed it survives the wet winter!

On the advice of a Goy member I'm going to put a ventilated bell cloche over it as it might be tender.
