I bought these in a pot last year, and have fended off the dreaded beetle again. I think they are even better this year.

Thanks Tuesdaybear. They are vile aren't they? (lily beetles, that is!) I have to use kitchen roll to squash the grubs. I really hate them and they make me very squeamish! I can hardly ever catch the beetles themselves, but as long as get rid of the grubs I find it's not too bad.

Fantastic, they even look like those new sorts, which are quite big. Do you remember its name?

No - I'm terrible about names. I really should start keeping a record - I've no excuse!

Thank you , Mossy. So do I - and the scent is amazing. They are over now, though.

They look like Star gazer lilies to me. You have plenty of them and they look to be a fair old height. Mine had buds in May/June but they dropped off. Both my daughters and my daughter in law chose to have these in their wedding bouquets. The scent is lovely.

They may be Stargazer, Scotsgran. This is their second year. I am always promising myself I'll keep records. I always think I'll remember what things are, but of course, I never do. I was so pleased with them - they were even better than the first year, unusual for me! I really kept a good look out for lily beetle, and squashed a couple and scraped off loads of grubs. I hate it, but it's definitely worth it!

Lovely. Couldn't fend off the beetle from mine this year; they were not good!
