Heucherella Redstone Falls (thanks Drc:-)

Heucherella Redstone Falls (thanks Drc:-)

I bought this at Gardeners World Live in June as a small plant in a 1 litre pot ....look at it now! There are two diascias in with it and two 'Memories' pinks which haven't flowered yet, but are getting ready lol, they're white flowered and very scented.

This lovely one is actually Heucherella - 'Redstone falls' Bornagain.

Wow, this is beautiful, I love it.

I agree ... it's a beautiful variety.

Thanks all, I'm very impressed with it, even though I made it a heuchera first lol, I've altered the title now Drc:-) It is one of the hanging ones Motinot I first saw it on Vicky1's blog I think. It apparently likes sun and as some of you will know, I've had a problem this year with heuchera rust on my shady heucheras, but this isn't near them. I've not known one to grow so quickly, it's almost smothering the other plants here :-)

Sad about your rust. I had a good look under mine and the leaves are clear but they are all in full sun Bornagain.

My Marmalade is fine Drc, it's in a pot and likes sun too:-) I think it's all the dark damp, then warmth:-)

I think you might be right - shame but it does not spread to other plants.

I don't think mine had enough air circulation either ...in fact things had overgrown a bit and I hadn't noticed. Poor husbandry:-( I've learned my lesson. I read that having 'buffering' plants between them may help too:-)

Yes I read that, but as you say they need air circulation too.

My 'Lime Marmalade' keeps being attacked by rust...its doing ok at the moment...They dont like to be too wet either...:>)

Have you had it before Motinot? It seems that this is a fairly new problem. I'd never heard of it until now, but at least they are plants which seem able to recover from most things, even having their roots eaten by vine weevil grubs:-)

Lovely heuchera. I got a cutting of Obsidian and it seems to have taken a treat so looking forward to potting it on into a more attractive pot next year. My Lime Marmalade was also plgued with rust and Bamboo recommended a product which seems to have worked (but had to wait six weeks to treat with all the rain!) I'll probably treat it once more before the season ends and fingers crosssed the Obsidian and the Lime Marmalade will make for an interesting colour contrast next year.

Does it harm insects Julie? Maybe they'll be ok next year without treatment if it's not so wet. Look forward to your pics when they grow:-)

Hmm not able to double check until daylight on that one as the treatment is stored safely away in the garden. Hope it's OK but only used the once :-)
