Lovely, and a nice height.

These lilies were only planted in the last year and they will take time to mature in the garden. I found lilies liked my garden and as I liked them I did plant quite a lot of new ones.

I love lilies as well, but tend to grow them in pots. How do they do in partial shade?

Full sun or partial shade seems to be the recommended position. I have these in full sun. I have oriental lilies growing under the pergola and it is verging on full to partial shade. I also have some in an east facing border under the apple trees and they are superb this year.

Thank you for that info, Scotsgran. I might try some bulbs in the border - parts of it are quite sunny.

If you plant them out mark the exact position,I tried a few in in the open ground and wondered why they were not growing and found slugs had chewed them as they came through the ground.

Thanks for that advice, Bjs. I will heed it. I often plant things out and completely forget where they should be coming up!
