Well done on seeing the Tortoiseshell, Carole ... they certainly are few and far between this year .....

Sandra, would you believe we saw this one, a Common Blue and a Peacock butterfly today ... like London buses ... all arriving at once! ... :o)

I have never seen this...it is beautiful. I do have tortoiseshells though...and cabbage whites, and that's it. Still, better than nothing!

Sadly for you, Karen, they are widespread and common throughout England and Wales and along the South coast of Ireland ... at least you have the Tortoiseshells and they are so pretty ... :o)

Thanks Muddy ... majority of Butterflies in the garden are Cabbage Whites ... they're ok but don't inspire me enough to run for the camera! ... :o)
