One side of this shrub was completely covered in flowers. We had a couple stormy days recently that wiped out a number of the flowers though and now half of the ones remaining are dead and ugly. At least there are still several unopened flower buds.

They are nice shrubs/trees and there are enough varieties that any garden size could have one. This is a newer variety but there are other nice small ones. Most years they stay dormant here until mid-June or even July and they are not hardy outdoors so all of mine are in containers. I think they would be cold hardy where you live but they don't do as well in cool summers or damp weather. Last year, June was cool and damp and I had to keep spraying them with fungicide to keep mildew from becoming a problem. They are nice four season plants though.
