It seems strange to remember this was the site of the compost heap last year! Things are starting to grow thanks to the wet summer. Wonder how it will look next year.

That's just what I thought Scottish. I get a nice surprise when I can see just how much plants have grown. Im so impatient! Id really love to see that birch as a mature tree now! lol

BA -Its a betula jacquemontii (think thats how you spell it!) I love them, theres a garden that has a big group of them with black ophiopogon planted as a river running through underneath. It looks spectacular! I dont think they like as much shade as there is in this spot, so I went for brunnera jack frost instead.

They've planted these in groups at our local Morrisons, so graceful and it looks like someone has painted their trunks, so white:-)
