But you are able to do better with the dormant types than me. I still have some plants that I bought this spring that have put up scapes, and I keep fighting the 1st year seedlings that want to bloom.

I don't have many dormant ones though, I try to plant more evergreens because it is basically all I have in my garden and it would look bad in winter if the flowerbeds looks empty. I am sipping on my first coffee for the day and awaits sunset to see my first bloom this spring and I don't know what it is - the marker is gone. So here I am...eager to see...

I am waiting for the regular rains to return so I can start working on moving the keepers and getting the seedling beds ready for next year. It is still too hot to work in the sun for very long. I go by charts that I make of where things are because it is too easy for the tags to get moved (I think my cats go out at night just to hide them).
