All these trees are native to Madagascar. Many palms and plants from the tropical island of Madagascar grow very well in California. Photo taken on Sept. 4, 2012 in Carlsbad, CA. (northern San Diego County).

Carlsbad is right on the coast. The climate is mild and warm. Carlsbad has a frost-free climate.
There's a lot of large beautiful traveller's palms in the San Diego Area.

Carlsbad is near desert hot isn't it?. Doesn't seem to get much frost either.
Thats a good looking Travelers for California. Many dont hold that many fronds at a time. Very nice.
