Mangifera indica - Mango Fruit

Mangifera indica - Mango Fruit (Mangifera indica - Mango Fruit)

This is the other side of the mango tree I posted a few days ago. There's an orange tree on the left and an avocado tree to the right. Photo taken Sept. 8, 2012

Janettehannah:

I wish it was my tree! This tree is close to downtown San Diego.

My little mango tree died a couple years ago from being crowded out by other plants. Mango trees need a very hot, full sun location to thrive.

Guess I won't be growing Mangos in my garden then? What a great place it must be to live surrounded by such wonderous plants. Its getting a little cooler in the evenings here now Although I did manage to get out into my garden this afternoon, pottered about then sunbathed for a while. Got to get it while you can.

Yes, you would need a heated greenhouse to grow a mango tree there successfully. :>)

I can only imagine little cooler evenings...only in my dreams. LOL! It's sweltering at 102ºF (39ºC) here right now at 1:00 p.m.

It's been so very hot, humid the last seven weeks or so. YUCK!!!
