Thanks Bjs....yes and yes. I bought it in flower spring 2011 and it flowered this year. This is one of 3 - 1 got devoured by slugs first year and the other - I tried out in a sunnier bit of the garden but didn't do so well. I've moved it again but I think it's a gonner!!!
It doesn't seem to be doing much growing - but it's still alive so that's a plus :))

Scottish I was a bit supprised to see it in that position knowing how easily they fall prey to slugs and snails,I love the flowers on them but only have limited success with them in one of my raised Troughs,In theory you should do better with them than me.But that was before the weather went mad.
It wont grow any more this year it makes its buds soon deep down those are also prone to being eaten,if you had not already moved it would have suggested potting it and get it up out of the way of the eating machines.
Best of luck.

Brian - I love the flowers too!
Thanks for the tip - I'll lift it tomorrow and put it in a pot - I was going to buy some more earlier this year - I wish I had now. My local nursery (Binny Plants) had another one with much larger leaves.
What I really need is a decent sized trough to put some of these little beauties in. I checked today - the other has vanished!!!! Which didn't surprise me really.

Wish Binny was on my doorstep,A lot of the alpine People in Scotland use the polystyrene fish boxes for troughs and coat them with a cement mix(they add Peat to it and call it Hypertufa, I just use masonry paint on my Polystyrene ones works alright.

Thanks Brian - I must make a point of seeing the fishmen who deliver the seafood to the airport to go on the planes.
