... showing the extent of the mound. For the eagle-eyed there are still a few little elders to take out! For some idea of scale, those logs around the cherry in the background are cut to 18" and the tree at the back is a coastal redwood (sequoia).

Bigger than I thought you meant and yes it will be expensive to plant, Seedling would be a cheaper option?

How nice to be doing something quite different. Many years ago I helped dig out a mill race as the mill was being turned into a b and b and it was stunning when it was finished. Good luck with it and please post more pics as it progresses, it looks interesting.
