Is it a fall blooming plant Bjs? I like the yellow and we have lots of tall Douglas firs and red cedars around for the support But maybe it needs full sun?

Klahanie
It is in the UK,Some years I think I have seen it in August but we have had no sun and these type of plants in my garden are a month later than some years.

I believe that our climate on Vancouver Island is very similar to one you have in UK, Bjs.
This looks like one of the flamboyant alpinas which usually announces the coming of the spring. I have one of these in pink. I like the yellow one in your picture .
