The Crape Myrtles are still in full bloom in San Diego, CA. They have been flowering for many months. Photo taken Oct. 4, 2012 in Balboa Park.

The Crepe Myrtles start blooming in April or May and bloom for many months.

We will be very lucky to see any flowers we bought this plant in France, kept it inside all winter and put it outside too early, it very nearly died, just picking up again!!

Doesn't this tree grown outside? It's an extremely hardy tree! It's not like you're trying to grow Lagerstroemia speciosa - Queen's Crape Myrtle...which is tropical. We grow them here...however, they're not as common.
