A retaining wall covered with vine in fall

It is green in the summer. It changes gradually until it is very deep red and then the leaves fall down.

Looks very controlled how often do you prune it.

We never prune it on this wall but we also have it climbing on the house and that has to be pruned once in a while(couple of years)
