This area is starting to get very crowded with all the plants. The African Tulip tree and Sugar Cane and Ficus has gotten very large during this past very, very hot summer and fall. The very hot weather continues tomorrow - up to about 92ºF (33ºC) for at least 4 days. Photo taken Oct. 24, 2012.

That's funny! The sky looks like this here most of the time.
Tomorrow it's going to be even bluer...very hot Santa Ana Winds are coming. The Santa Ana Winds blow everything out of the sky. Typically you can see for many, many miles, it's so super clear.

The Sugar Cane stalks were unexpected! I've never seen them used in garden beds before.

I put in the sugar cane last year. I can only keep three stems. It's too small of an area for any more.

Lol, yes I can imagine that you could only plant a couple. I know how tall those canes get, and how bushy they get as well.

It was only one stem, planted length-wise. I have dozen of stems trying to grow...I just cut them out every couple of weeks.
