Last week I bought little bags of bouquet garni in Mark and Spencer. I read about it a lot, so I wanted to try it. However, I didn´t find recommendation for use there on the label. Can I put it into poultry soup? I guess yes. But when during the cooking?

Hi Sticki, thank you, but when and for how long? I know, that I will not serve the dish with the bag floating in the soup, lol :))))

Um I'm not quite sure, I think you put it in for the majority or the whole of the cooking time, not all of them contain garlic.
Lulu would know.

I tried to check it in google, too. I think generally 20 minutes before the soup is finished. ???

That would be absolutely fine! If I find it in my recipes and it's very different I will let you know
Enjoy your soup!

Im sure it will be delicious katarina!
great to do cooking on a rainy day, its raining here too but i hope its going to dry up later so i can clean out my pond. for now i have to sort out some cupboards and the fridge!!
tonights dinner isnt so exciting, because it is similar to last night [unusual for me] i made butternut squash chilli, i wanted to put black beans in it but then discovered they had to be soaked over night ~ the soaked beans will now go into what is left of the chilli and we will eat that tonight.
perhaps i will find a more interesting pudding to make? trouble is OH says he wants to lose weight so i cant make the things i like :-((

What is butternut squash chilli? Sounds like the name of sumo, lol.
Beans should be always soaked overnight, don´t they?
Tell your OH (it is the short form of Olympic Games in Slovak) that he WILL lose the weight from working around the pond, lol. No, I am bad, say hello to him.

Hi Bik, I grow them almost all too, with the exception of laurel tree (I had beautiful one, but died in frosts this February) and garlic. Otherwise I have thymus, sage, lavender, rosmary. Not pepper!
Those which come from Mediterranean they have extremely good aroma.

butternut squash is one of the pumpkin family kat, i chopped it up and roasted it, then used it instead of meat in a chilli con carne, it works well.
OH working in the garden????? i dont think so! he does cut the lawn but other than that he is likely to pull up plants and carefully look after the weeds!!
i looked up bouquet garni in one of my oldest books, it says
'most soups are improved by the addition of a small bunch of herbs called a faggot or bouquet garni, ...... for long slow meat stews the more aromatic herbs are used, such as chervil, basil, tarragon, rosemary and dried celery seed'

I can tell you, Sticki, that the soup was "heaven in the mouth". I can imagine, that it will be even better with stew meat. Thank you!

:))))) My grandmother had restaurant before WWII. That is in genes :)) Although, I am more fan of quick fresh food of Italian style, then our heavy foods. My digestion ages, too.

Yes katarina, during the cooking of anything that has stock in, take it out before serving!
