Is nt it the oldest tree in the world to survive

I think you are right, although there was recently found similary old pine tree in Australia, somebody showed it here, I think Sticki or Steve in that arboretum they visited. So I am not sure which one is the oldest. Ginkgo has perfect ability to change its metabolism according to outer temperatures and water supply, thanks to which it can survive in extreme conditions.

Yes Katarina, it was on a documentary about the things animals, plants that survive and why they survive, because the same as what you have said the ability to change its metabolism, my mum gave me one years ago but had to leave it it got too big to dig up she told me when giving it me it was the oldest species of tree to survive
