Not really that exotic Karen. You can find these in Lidl from time to time. As I say, they really are easy to grow if you follow a couple of basic rules.
I think that the blooms are a bit special too Sticki, although most people disregard them.

The yellow centre looks a bit like a pice of sweet corn! It reminds me of a narcissi, probably due to the coloring?

Not sweet corn - that's disgusting!!!! A nice yolk from a fresh egg!

lol..sorry Keith but I have to agree with Sticki, it looks like a kernel of sweetcorn! :)

Thanks Katarina!
Keep an eye out in Lidl - they are sold in Lidl (in the UK) early winter. May be the same where you are. Very cheap to buy from there.

Our Lidl prefers palms and cactuses, lol.

I've had a few of those from our Lidl - cheap and always grow well. Too well in many cases and the palms got too big so I gave them away.

Yes, this is interesting. Garden centers, which are owned here by Germans, usually (not always) have very expensive flowers and very often they are problematic or die. Like for instance rhododendrons. They have beautiful ones, but they all usually died in my garden because of some strange disease. The same experience is with domestic small private GC, their rhodies have always burnt leaves :( On the other hand, Tesco usually has perfect healthy rhodies, not expensive and they grow very well in my garden. Usually they have plants from the Netherlands.

I just object to giving my money to the large chains............
Most small nurseries here sell far better plants.
