Nice feet....long lobed toes! Totally different from ducks’ fully webbed (and much shorter) feet.

You are right Bumpy, their behavior is not very elegant or gracious. But they are fun to watch.Looks like they are very social bunch and territorial. Does the European cousin look the same?

Homebird, it is interesting to watch how they walk. They actually " fold" those flappers in with every lift of the foot.
Or dress shoes Katarina....nice color :-)

clearly a bold pair of coots & those amazing feet resemble the leaves of the schlumbergera xmas cactus ! I love the coots antics on the water, fiesty, beligerant birds hurtle across the water like crazy out of control radio control boats, very entertaining. I suspect their cousins over the pond have an equally atitude ?? Great photo.
