can anyone identify this plant

This plant is about 2ft tall and a 2 ft spread with a fleshy stem.But I don't know what it is, can anyone help. I have already contacted where I bought it from as it was sent to me as something else(a bougainvillea, which it clearly is not).
Could it be a herbacious type of Hibiscus or Mallow hibiscus.
