Hibiscus

Unusual color on this one..
Most of them I see here are yellow, red or peachy colored.
The the red flowers (the one call Roselle) are dried and it us used as a tea. It is very popular drink here called "agua de Jamaica " or simply "Jamaica". It's medicinal properties and benefits are numerous but it is also very refreshing..

Is this that sort of Hibiscus, which flowers are as big as dish?

I do not know Katarina. I just see the dry calyces sold in bags, and sometimes order "jamaica" in restaurants, It taste little bit like cranbery juice.

Yes, they often mix cranberries with Hibiscus flowers in teas.

That's a common variety here in San Diego, CA. It's a variety of Hibiscus rosa-sinensis.
