I wish I could get my spider plant to grow like that ...

Hywel:

No you don't! lol! :>)

It can become very invasive, especially when grown in the ground. I have it growing everywhere in my yard (mostly shady areas). I have to mow it down.

They won't grow outside all year round here Delonix, so it's in a pot ... but it looks rather scrawney lol.

16 Jan, 2013

That's a good thing. :>)

17 Jan, 2013

I wish it wasn't so scrawney though :o)

17 Jan, 2013

It may need a little bigger pot with more sun.

18 Jan, 2013

Yes it does need a larger pot, but I can't give it much sunshine here in January ... but the days are lengthening :o)

18 Jan, 2013

I'll send you some sunshine. lol!

We just had one of the coldest spells in years (6 days long)...now, it's warm again (YAY!) suppose to be 80ºF (27ºC) today, that's after yesterdays high of 76ºF (25ºC).
We're happy San Diegans again! :>)

Thanks ... as long as it's warm sunshine I'll cope :o)
about 25 - 28 C will do nicely :o))
It's about 3 C here at the moment lol

19 Jan, 2013

Snow should start to melt in 3 C. Lets hope that you will get sun back soon Hywel.

It is sunny, but soooo cold :o( I prefer it milder and raining. I can't cope with cold temps, even if the sun is shining :o(

For the next week the temps are forecasted to be at or around 80ºF (27ºC).

20 Jan, 2013

I'm sure I'd enjoy it :o)

20 Jan, 2013

And that's besides seeing all the interesting plants/trees which grow here. lol! :>)

22 Jan, 2013

You have such a variety of plants there. I think seeing them would be what I'd enjoy most :o)

I would love to go and see the English gardens also.
Maybe this summer or next. They are famous for it's beauty. Maybe little more formal than we have . And then real Japanese gardens for their tranquility.

22 Jan, 2013

There are some nice gardens in Wales too :o) Some are near here.

22 Jan, 2013

I know,Hywel. I have seen some pictures. I will have to do some more research before we go. Which gardens would you recommend? ( must to see)

22 Jan, 2013

There are too many to list here :o) but two that are just a few miles from me are the National Botanic Gardens of Wales, and Aberglasney Gardens. They are about 13 - 15 miles from my house.
I have written blogs on them in the past. Maybe you'd like to have a look.
There are lots more ... and there are also many in the north too, (i e north Wales) but I'm not familiar with up there.
