One of the earliest flowering primulas. A lovely primula which looks frilly. It has a white band around the central yellow 'star', thus differentiating them from plants with unpleasant muddy pink flowers that arise when common primroses cross with a garden selection.

Thank you Bjs. I thought it was hardy. As soon as possible I will get it in to the garden and give it a hat. I suppose it will be the wet rather than the cold that might kill it off? You can see the frost on the old leaves. I had researched it and thought it flowered February to April. I like that the flowers are there almost before the new leaves have started growing. The flowers have faint streaks, in a slightly darker shade, radiating out from the central star. I read somewhere that this is a primula that vine weevils leave alone.

It is hardy in the ground but soft new growth and frozen roots are bad news for most primroses.

Oh dear, well I will just have to hope I can save something because the pot is frozen stuck to the wall. As soon as it thaws I will get it under cover.
