This beauty has been so happy, and successfully survives our winters, so I'm excited to see it next spring. Its now on a bank in the sun where it can enjoy more exposure. In the Rocky Mountains where I was born, a lewisia is the state flower, called the bitteroot. Pink is common, but reminds me of those little alpine beauties.

Looks very natural,I assume its covered in snow all winter to keep it dry?

I did have this once in an alpine trough, but the winter wet killed it off, very lovely...:>)

Thank you all. We have a dry climate here and the snow has it in the deep freeze for still three months. I think it will flourish!
