I had no idea that lewisia would bloom through the entire summer or that the zinnia would get so large and put it in shadow, both being my first try. This is the old garden, so they have moved, lewisia into the sun, and the annual zinnia to be tried again. I'll have to force them a little to get a good blooming season next year.

Thank you both. I had my heart swept up by the, but I've got to get them blooming early. Some only got one flower before the cold. This did the best and only had two more blooms. I think the 'chelsea' chop will be used this year, while nursing in a pot just a bit too small. ;-) Forces rudbeckia perfectly, I hope these do the same.

Oh, Aleyna, I bet you see plenty of butterflies at them. Here it bloomed so late the swallowtails had left and the painted ladies didn't seem interested. They seem to like my more smelly flowers......lol. :-) I'm excited about them in the new garden, the painted lady's were all over the new house when I moved in. The woods must have something they love.

At last someone who hasn't posted a picture with snow in it! Good on you, mate! I liked this photo very much! :-))
I haven't grown Zinnias since I lived at home with my parents 40 years ago! I can still see them in my mind's eye! I must get some for this year on my balcony or the allotment!
