They seem to meet at dusk here LG we have an Acer and have counted between 20/30 in it some evenings , I don't think they spend the night in it I've watched them all fly off together after the 'meeting ' ......

thanks folks, we have seven doves that feed every day and more come from time to time, they are one of my favourites. They have worked out how to feed from all my feeders, very clever!
