What a fabulous Epipremnum! They get to be enormous in the tropics.

Thanks for the name Bernie. It is so big and I was not sure. I know only the small leaf ones.(houseplants)
I will change the title.
Have a good day (or perhaps evening?)

Bernieh, would you by any chance know the name of this blue blooming bush (or perhaps vine?)

Klahanie, I had a look and recognised it immediately. I've added the name in my comment for you.

Bernieh:

It's more like they take over in the tropics! lol! :>)

In Hawaii this plant grows wild in the wet areas. It can take over many miles of the rainforest.

Klahanie:

I've only seen a few Epipremnum aureum growing like this here in San Diego...although, they don't look as good as in the wet tropics (we're just too dry).

Epipremnum pinnatum grows much better here in San Diego, CA. It looks almost exactly like the one above; however, it's all green. I like Epipremnum aureum the best.

E.pinnatum will grow in the bay area also. I wonder how much farther south of SD do you have to be to see Pothos climb with big adult foliage?. Sort of the passing of very mild med climate to deep subtropical climate. On the west coast, you might have to be very far south. In Florida, they can be grown much farther north-- those hot humid summers.

Stan,

I've seen some really nice Epipremnum aureum growing since Klahanie posted this photo. It needs to be in semi-shade on a tree to develop the large leaves. I've seen them growing on poles in patio areas (where it's difficult to get a pic). They look best in those type of conditions.

Well,Sunset does say that by mid summer coastal SouCal cities start to turn tropical with warm nights and ocean humidity. I've just never seen Pothos of any size in photos. In Arizona they seem to be an easy shade ground cover- but no large leafs. I want large leafs!..
Hey Andy- my Monstera's one fruit smells a bit sweet. Should I pick and ripen indoors? Or wait for the base to turn yellow? Right now its barely looks to be turning color. HEY- i will post a pic later.

Great pic Klahanie. Its like my dream- a warmer Hayward.

You can grow large variety of plants Stan, which is wonderful.
Our neighbour here has large leaf Epipremnum growing up a palm tree. Will get picture over the fence.

Only when Epipremnum species grow up trees or walls does it develop the larger leaves. As a hanging plant the leaves stay small. Not sure why this happens.

Stan, you should probably pic the Monstera fruit before the ants get to them. I have several fruits on my big plant in my backyard and the ants always get to them every time before I can get to them. You just have to make sure they're completely ripe before they're eaten. The fruit will turn yellow, also. They almost look like corn on the cob.

Does the fruit smell like pineapple? When ripe it smells and tastes like pineapple.

It wasn't the Monstera. I guess the Brug had wafted over. Still, its been more then a year- and "next" years is forming.
No prolific-lol.

I'm tempted to pick and use the banana in a bag trick.

Do you get a lot of fruit from your Monstera deliciosa?

The one I have is a really good variety a friend gave me. I'm not sure of the origins; however, my friend from the Palm Society had beautiful fruit all the time off this variety in Hayward (in the Cherryland area). It was planted around some large Howea palms for years and years. Both the Howea and Monstera were damaged pretty badly during the December 1990 freeze...but both came back fast and beautifully. My friend (who's no longer alive) took such good care of them, it wasn't a surprise they came back so quickly.
