Yes, I try to describe the locations and plants/trees the best I can. You could most likely navigate the city by the plants. There's so many historical trees here in San Diego.

It's one of the top places to live (for many reasons) in the U.S. The climate rates as one of best in U.S. Although, since January the weather has been horrible! We've had some warm weather, but it's mostly been cooler than normal. I guess we need some winter weather sometimes. :>) All last winter was so warm it actually just felt like spring.

Palmate:
That does sounds very cold! I guess I shouldn't complain; however, I will. LOL! Your sister most likely will feel the cold...because even though, it's been chilly here...it's not quite that cold.
It was only warm for 3 days...now, it's chilly again. The weather this year since January has mostly been below normal (cold for San Diego!). Us San Diego's have been complaining to high Heaven! We're so spoiled!

When we were in January it was warm for us so we were wearing shorts and Tshirts getting very odd looks and comments from Los Angelinos LOL

I bet you were getting very odd looks from the Angelinos. I calculated you went through Los Angeles during some of the coldest weather to affect Southern California in many, many years. It was cold enough here for 6 mornings to affect some of my tenderest plants.
