These were located around the building from the other nine Alexander palms I posted a few days ago in Old Town, San Diego, CA. Photo taken Feb 16, 2013 on Presidents' Day Holiday Weekend.

Yes, I love Alexander palms! I have 3 in the backyard. The tallest one which has been in the ground for 5 or 6 years is almost as tall the smallest one in this group.

Yes, however, they should have been planted a little further away from the building.

I should talk. I planted all three of mine a little too close to my neighbor's house The largest Alexander palm has a frond growing under their porch. My neighbor is a major recluse, so he doesn't say anything.

That is lucky for you then?

Yes. I just discovered yesterday one of my Alexander palms has a bacterial disease. The fronds are dying. It was growing so well, too. I hope it will recover!

Do you see many of the purple King palms? I see them showing up more and more on plant boards. Are they spotted around town?
