Looks like a great mix of plants to me, love that yellow conifer. Is bamboo difficult to contain? I suppose you have to grow the sorts that won't take over the whole garden but I have heard it can become a problem?

True Hywel lol :) Hi Louisa yes it spreads everywhere ! Next to 2 giant to be plants - I am taking big chances here , especially as the yellow conifer is Leylandii related. My neighbour loves bamboo and told her about it :D Cheers SL

How big do you expect the conifer to get? I'm very wary of conifers, I've bought too many little ones that end up so big I struggle to remove them. This week I've successfully cut down and dug out one that got to about twice as big as me. It was a big job! Now almost all my conifers are in pots, just in case!lol

stopping and pruning when it gets to about 10ft - hope the roots do not do damage though :D

I tried that with one of mine, but chopping the top off just made the trunk develop a lot thicker, and made it quite hard to get rid of when I decided to get rid. Yes, the roots could be a problem, depends what's in the vicinity for it to do damage too. It does look splendid at the moment though!
