Howea fosteriana - Kentia Palms

There's hundreds of tall Kentia palms on the grounds of the Catamaran Resort. These were some located by the front entrance. Photo taken Feb. 23, 2013.

I had a Howea which grew very fast in Fremont. It grew 7 to 8 fronds a year. If they get lots of water and fertilizer you'd be surprised how fast they can grow up there.

They are so slow growing in the bay area. I doubt you could really plan a garden around young ones. Thats slow.
Adding them here and there is best use. King palms? Them,you could use like a coconut in the tropics. Fast.
